James Lecoutre joined DW Simpson’s Asia Pacific office in Sydney in 2006. James joins us from London where he was successful as a specialist actuarial recruiter for a number of years.

He started his career as a Fine Art & Jewellery Insurance Broker in the London General Insurance market. He was responsible for placing the Insurance requirements of Jewellery manufacturers and wholesalers in Asia, as well as worldwide Fine Art exhibitions, with various London Market and Lloyds’ of London Insurers. He subsequently became an Insurance Underwriter at Lloyds of London. As a Specie Underwriter, James specialized in worldwide Jewellers Block and Fine Art business.

After taking some time off to travel, James returned to London and moved into recruitment where he worked for a start up specialist Actuarial Recruiter. James’s background in Insurance and his experience of working with actuaries as an Underwriter were instrumental in helping this start up operation evolve into a leading specialist actuarial recruitment consultancy within London.

James also worked for the largest dedicated general insurance recruiter in London where he was jointly responsible for establishing and growing a specialist actuarial recruitment desk.

James has been successful in placing actuarial candidates from student to partner level within General Insurance, Life Assurance, Pensions & Investments and has 7 years experience as a specialist actuarial recruiter.
